How I work

A leader who thinks in systems, not just images.

My job is to make good art repeatable — building the teams, standards and pipelines that let a small group ship at the scale of a much larger one.

Define the visual identity

Set the art direction and the systems behind it — pillars, style guides and art bibles that keep a whole team, and every vendor, on the same page.

Build & scale art teams

Hire, mentor and grow multidisciplinary teams of internal artists and outsource vendors — turning contributors into leads and specialists.

Bring AI into the studio

Introduce AI where it accelerates production — model training, generation, upscaling — with tighter input standards, while creative direction stays human.

Design production pipelines

Architect the workflows that sustain a live cadence — proxy pipelines, asset standards and clean hand-offs that let quality scale without burning the team out.

Selected work

Leadership, shown through the work it produced.

Five projects where the outcome came from the system as much as the pixels.

Mergemon Wilds

Joined an early prototype and art directed it into a game players want to play — thousands of assets in about three months, almost entirely AI-generated under my direction, with a new art style, a pipeline built from scratch and liveops events scheduled through February.

Guess That! Unreleased

Created the artistic vision for a new cross-platform (PC + mobile) game. Defined company-wide processes, systems and pipelines, and built + led a small in-house team of 2D and 3D game artists from the ground up.

Two Dots

Eight years on Two Dots — started as Technical Artist & sole Animator (implementing every mechanic, saga map, UI, feature and VFX in Unity), then built the in-house art team from scratch and grew into the Art Director role. Directed world-class guest illustrators, designed 200+ medallions, and created Scavenger Hunt — the Easter-egg feature that shipped 24 animated maps a year. Contributed to 3×+ revenue growth.

Gucci

Luxury retail concepting on a three-person team — glorifying products through props, art and staging, then modeling, texturing, lighting and rendering the proposals in 3D. Followed each idea through production.

About
Piacere, sono Laura

Kind, determined, and endlessly curious.

I'm an art director with 15+ years across games, fashion and advertising. I love to build, lead and support teams of top-tier artists and animators — and I'm at my best turning ambitious visual ideas into systems a team can actually ship. Right now, I lead a hybrid team of 25+ artists at Fortis Games, operating at Head-of-Art scope.

I care as much about how the work gets made as how it looks: the pipeline, the standards, the way a team grows. Lately that's meant leading a studio's move toward AI-assisted production — thoughtfully, and with the craft kept human.

I bring a sunny, optimistic energy to it all. Outside of work you'll find me sailing on the Hudson, singing at jam sessions, or baking a proper lasagna verde.

Building something that needs art to scale?

I'm always happy to talk art leadership, pipelines, and building teams that ship.
